Escalante Capelet

Worked in the round from top to bottom, this beautiful accessory can be styled as a capelet or a cowl. Escalante Capelet is the perfect piece to wear as a Spring or Fall accessory. It is worked with lace weight yarn to yield a delicate drape and light and airy fabric. Escalante will give you a extra warmth on cooler days without weighing you down. I love that you can dress it up or wear it casual.  It’s versatility is appealing and the simplicity and knitting techniques used will hold your interest.

The pattern includes written instructions and a chart for the lace stitch pattern. A double yarn-over stitch lace panel is worked in the center of both the front and back. The shoulders are shaped with yarn-over increases. Materials

  • Suggested Yarn: Knit Picks Gloss Lace Yarn (1.75 oz/50g, 440 yd/402 m, 70% Merino Wool/30% Silk), 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4) hanks lace weight yarn, #25917, Port.
  • US size 3 3.25 mm 16” 40 mm and 32-40” 80-100 mm circular needles or size to obtain correct gauge.
  • Yarn Needle
  • 8 Stitch Marker

Gauge

  • 29 sts and 46 rnds = 4” 10 cm in St st, in the rnd.
  • 24 sts and 40 rnds = 4” 10 cm in Lace Pattern, in the rnd
